I’m gonna peck that sand. I’m gonna scratch that earth.
I’m gonna love that land. I’m gonna share my perch.

Today’s the day I’m gonna conquer every curb I lean to
then I’m gonna spread my wings and crow it at the morning rain.

When the sun’s high above, I’d rather stay at home.
Because this hen I love – she dons a scarlet comb.

But today’s the day I’m gonna gobble every grub I dare to
Yeah. Then I’m gonna spread my wings and crow it at the morning rain.

At the morning rain. Tastes as fine as sweet Champaign.

I have a spot downtown, near the shuffle courts.
Gals in funny hats, men in Bermuda shorts.

But today’s the day I’m gonna strut on any court I choose to
Yep. Then I’m gonna spread my wings and crow it at the morning rain.

At the morning rain. It’s pouring and I can’t complain.

I’m gonna shine my beak. I’ll likely flap my wings.
I’ll start a winning streak – for what tomorrow brings.

But today’s the day I’m gonna splash in every pool I come to
Oh yeah. Then I’m gonna spread my wings and crow it at the morning rain.

I’m gonna cross that street, to peck a cockle shell.
I’m gonna stretch my feet, I’m gonna crow like hell.

‘Cause today’s the day I’m gonna nibble any bush I choose to
Yes sir. Then I’m gonna spread my wings and crow it at the morning rain.

At the morning rain. I’ll crow my story loud and plain.
