September’s dunes have drifted and my cold heart is lifted
To see this silent, barefoot journey that you’ve made
Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?

Your palm of shells and frosted glass
The pastel sky. The swaying grass.
The hidden spot where you and I have laid
Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?

The wind sends sunshine through your hair
Gulls float by on ocean air
I continue my affectionate crusade
Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?

Let’s sneak into this sandy brier
You know just what my lips desire
We’ll lay between the sea oat’s wispy gold
Clouds glide like silver threads above
You have no need to worry love
I’ll never share the secrets that we hold

The breeze is pushing inland
The dove flies from the limbs and
The crickets start their rhythmic serenade
Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?

A winding path has brought you here
Your footprints all soon disappear
It’s your salty lips I’m trying to persuade
Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?

Let’s linger in this spot we’ve found
You surrender soft your daisy crown
Our spirits quietly fly out toward the sea

The morning glory seem to wink
Our spirits soar, our bodies sink
For whom does that dove call for now, love?
She calls for you and me

My heart is beating through my chest
You hold me sweetly to your breast
We’ll savor this sweet memory we’ve just made

Will you? Kiss me?
Beneath this boardwalk in the shade?
